- If you specified that you would like to become an ONW literary magazine Editor-in-Chief, Prose Editor, Poetry Editor, or Non-Fiction Editor, provide sample writing piece. All genres are accepted (prose, poetry, non-fiction, etc.). Please limit submissions to ONE piece of writing that is no more than 5 pages in length.
- If you specified that you would like to become an ONW literary magazine Photography Editor, Video Editor, 2D/3D Visual Arts Editor, or Graphic Design Editor, provide a sample of your work. Scans of artwork / graphic design will be accepted, along with photographs. Please limit submissions to 1-3 visual pieces.
- If you specified that you would like to become an ONW literary magazine editor in more than one category of writing AND visuals, please attach two samples of writing and visuals using the directions above.
Editor Roles
Editor-in-Chief
The Editor-in-Chief is in charge of the big picture of the magazine, including setting goals and deciding on strategies. The EIC will read, review, and evaluate all submissions in tandem with the other editors. The EIC will attend all meetings and events, will participate in hiring staff, will assist in publicizing for the literary magazine, and is in charge of the day-to-day operations of the magazine, including setting meetings, coordinating submissions, monitoring the budget, and managing other staff members.
Prose Editor
The Prose Editor will be in charge of reading and evaluating all prose submissions with the Editor-in-Chief. This includes giving feedback on all submissions.
Poetry Editor
The Poetry Editor will be in charge of reading and evaluating all poetry submissions with the Editor-in-Chief. This includes giving feedback on all submissions.
Nonfiction
The Nonfiction Editor will be in charge of reading and evaluating all non-fiction submissions with the Editor-in-Chief. This includes giving feedback on all submissions.
Photography Editor
The Photo Editor will be in charge of viewing and evaluating all photography art submissions with the Editor-in-Chief. This includes giving feedback on all submissions.
Video Editor
The Video Editor will be in charge of viewing and evaluating all video submissions with the Editor-in-Chief. This includes giving feedback on submissions. The Video Editor will also be in charge of capturing and/or editing video submissions if
2D/3D Visual Art Editor
The 2D/3D Visual Art Editor will be in charge of viewing and evaluating all 2D art and 3D art submissions with the Editor-in-Chief. This includes giving feedback on all submissions.
Graphic Design
The Graphic Design Editor will be in charge of regularly designing posters, updating the design of the website, designing a cover and layout for each publishing, and generally covering the literary magazine’s graphic design needs.
